As an investment banker with over three decades of experience, Robert has advised on many of the largest and most complex mergers, acquisitions and strategic restructuring transactions around the globe.
Robert co-founded Centerview Partners, a leading independent investment banking and advisory firm, in 2006. Centerview has advised clients on nearly $4 trillion in transactions, providing senior-level counsel on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, financial restructurings and valuation to companies, boards, institutions and governments.
Robert has advised on over $1 trillion of transactions in his career across a broad range of industry sectors. In addition, he is a leading advisor to Boards of Directors on shareholder activism, takeover defense and special committee assignments.
Prior to co-founding Centerview, Robert was Head of Global Investment Banking and CEO of North America at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and President of Wasserstein Perella & Co. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University and a Master of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School, where he graduated with distinction.
Robert is a steadfast supporter and board member of various artistic, educational and cultural organizations. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Jewish Museum and is a former Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Ethical Culture Fieldston School. Robert serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of ArtsConnection, a leading not-for-profit organization that provides arts education to New York City public school children and is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Wesleyan University, where he serves on the Finance, Investment and Governance committees. He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is married with two children and lives in New York City.
